About About This Site | About Me | Covers Of Erasure Tracks | FAQs | Acknowledgements About Me Clearly it's with a sense of extreme boredom or perverse curiosity that
you've come to this page. Well, here goes: I was born in 1982 and have
lived most of my life in South East London. I was first amazed by Erasure's
talents back in 1994 when Always was given generous air-play
on Capital Radio. After successfully haggling with my eldest sister Helen
(which is no mean feat), I finally agreed to leave her alone if she bought
me a copy of the song. She stuck to her side of the bargain and the next
day I got my paws on the cassette single. I fell instantly in love with
the song and the b-side Tragic, and knew I had stumbled upon
something very special indeed. The subsequent Christmas I received a copy
of I Say I Say I Say and knew I had become addicted. To follow
was a pursuit to own every song Erasure ever released
(and some that never were). I soon became a member of the EIS and eventually
decided in 1998 to diminish my boredom by setting up a website to worship
the magnificence of this extraordinary band.
Other interests besides Erasure include my love for Football (or Soccer as you misguided Yanks and Aussies call it) and I am a devoted follower of Sheffield Wednesday, as well as fan of Wycombe Wanderers and my local team Bromley. I also enjoy to play the sport and play between the sticks as it were as a goalkeeper. I also like to compose the odd song on my keyboard, and I know that my best mate James and I (or THR33 as we're known) are onto a winner with Racing Emotions. Inevitably as a webmaster, I love to tinker on the PC and enjoy many computer games such as Quake III Arena, Bubble Bobble, UT2004, Sensible Soccer and Championship Manager. I also enjoyed corrupting my gorgeous girlfriend Kerry into owning every Erasure album herself (next stop: the singles).
I am very happy to maintain this site, which is a labour of love. Also this site opens the door for me to communicate with other Erasure fans and has lead to me making a very special friend in Robin who I'd never have met had it not been for this very website. This site also gives me the opportunity to slag off the music industry because quite simply when there are bands like Erasure about, other artists have to be something special just to lick Erasure's boots. Unfortunately today's bands don't even come close and have a long way to go to even become remotely creditable in my eyes. My other musical interests include (by-and-large the usual suspects): A-ha, Cause & Effect, Depeche Mode, Dubstar, Duran Duran, Electronic, James, Lightning Seeds, New Order, O.M.D., Pet Shop Boys, R.E.M., Sleeper, The Human League and Yaz(oo). |
